Officer Trevor Arrowood was born on November 7th, 1995 and grew up in Polk County, NC. Trevor excelled in school and sports, and upon graduation from Polk County High School, Trevor went to Western Carolina University to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice.
Trevor made a lasting impact wherever he went, but especially at Western Carolina. Trevor was proud to begin a career in public service after graduation as a Rock Hill, S.C. police officer.
In June of 2018, Trevor found out he had a large mass in his heart. After open heart surgery, doctors discovered this mass to be cancer. Though he endured years of chemo, radiation, and multiple surgeries, Trevor never quit fighting. Trevor continued to work from home during this entire period and never wavered in his duty to his community or his faith.
On January 5th, 2021 Trevor won his battle with cancer and left this world with something we should all strive for: an inspiring legacy. All Trevor wanted was to get back to work serving the community he loved. This love of service is what lead Trevor’s friends and family to create Trevor’s Gift.
Trevor’s Gift is a nonprofit organization which will endow scholarships to Western Carolina in Trevor’s honor for students who wish to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice. This work would be impossible without the help of generous donors.
Our team is comprised of family, friends and community members who want to ensure that Trevor's legacy is honored through the awarding of scholarships to young men and women who wish to pursue criminal justice as a career path through Western Carolina University.
