On March 7, Trevor's Gift was honored to again attend and serve the Rock Hill Police Department at the 2024 Chief's Award Dinner. During the ceremony, it was our privilege to present Officer Justin McClurkin with the Trevor Arrowood Award.
This award is presented to an officer who is chosen by the Arrowood family from a list of nominations provided by the officers' lieutenants. The recipient must demonstrate a true commitment to law enforcement, exceed the requirements of their position, exhibit professionalism and competency, meet each shift with positive energy and initiative, and possess the determination to accomplish well beyond what is normally accepted. Officer McLurkin's lieutenants described him as someone who, much like Trevor, is propelled by a passion for law enforcement to go above and beyond in serving his community, both in and out of uniform. Congratulations, Officer McClurkin!
It was our pleasure to again serve the officers of Rock Hill Police Department at the 2023 Chief's Award Dinner. The ceremony included the presenting of the first annual Trevor Arrowood Award, an honor given to an officer who embodies Trevor's legacy. The recipient must demonstrate a true commitment to law enforcement, exceed the requirements of their position, exhibit professionalism and competency, meet each shift with positive energy and initiative, and possess the determination to accomplish well beyond what is normally accepted.
Nominations were sent by the officers' lieutenants to the Arrowood family, who then selected the recipient who they found reminded them most of Trevor: Officer Shannon Hutson. Her lieutenants shared stories of Officer Hutson's approach to what could've been routine calls, but because of her compassion and genuine commitment to serving others, became lasting personal connections. These descriptions of Officer Hutson's dedication to law enforcement, along with her infectious positivity and personability, perfectly captured the spirit of The Trevor Arrowood Award. Congratulations, Officer Hutson!
